I had so much fun photographing Lloyia and Mark’s wedding at the NC State University Club in Raleigh, NC. They had hoped to have their ceremony outside in the rose garden, but 95+ degree heat kept them inside. The club provided a great room for the girls to primp and prepare for the big day. Natural Beauties by Vee did an amazing job with make-up and Lloyia’s dress was simply stunning.
These two have a wonderful family who made the day special. Mark’s cousin sang as Lloyia walked down the aisle accompanied by her mom. Mark held the couple’s son MJ, throughout much of the ceremony. The groom’s uncle, Pastor Gary Lam, traveled from Brooklyn to wed the two. Family traveled from New York, Connecticut, Canada, and (my personal favorite) Jamaica to celebrate their love. The reception was filled with laughs and lots of dancing and the night was finished off with a spectacular sparkler exit.
Mark and Lloyia met in Brooklyn more than 6 years ago in college. Mark was quite a home body, so it was a complete stroke of luck that he was out the same night that Lloyia had tagged along with some college dorm friends for a night on the town. They moved from New York to Raleigh in 2011 and were blessed with a beautiful boy in 2012. The three of them were out to dinner at Brasa Brazilian Steakhouse one night when Mark got down on one knee and asked for Lloyia’s hand in marriage. She was so excited she doesn’t even remember if she said yes…just lots of smiles and tears of joy.
The love birds enjoyed a beautiful honeymoon in Punta Cana right after the wedding. Congratulations…wishing you a lifetime of happy years together!!!
