I would like to start off with two words…Love Wins. Cassie and Kathy had their wedding last month just before the official Supreme Court ruling on same sex weddings. It was an honor to be their photographer and part of their absolutely beautiful day. Their wedding was small and intimate at a charming log cabin vacation home located on 90 acres in Burlington, North Carolina. We had clear blue skies and warm June temps throughout the day for this mostly outdoor wedding.
Family and friends gathered to celebrate the occasion from near and far. Both brides live in Washington, DC, but came home to North Carolina for their wedding. It was a casual and fun filled day including a photo scavenger hunt, cornhole, and a photo booth. Comfort food included fried chicken, North Carolina style BBQ, chocolate chip cookies and decadent cheesecake. The brides spent lots of time on many DIY decorations. Mason jar mugs with name tags and colorful straws, handmade bath salts for favors, and lots of pink flowers and ribbons could be found throughout the property.
Cassie and Kathy met more than 8 years ago on a mission trip in Peru. It had to be fate to be that far from home, and meet someone you are completely compatible with AND that lives nearby! They started dating about a year later and were very excited about making their relationship official and getting married. The two enjoyed a week long relaxing honeymoon kayaking, feeding llamas, and exploring Luray Caverns.
Congratulations and wishes for many years of happiness!
